Google Vids - A Beginner's Way To Create Professional Media Videos

Most people have some exposure to AI-created videos, shorts, or reels from their mobile devices. You know, the ones that have the same monotone, male voice explaining the unknown historical origin of a random common phrase? Or the 2-minute clips that show you step-by-step how trees are turned into paper, while walking you through a montage of trees, timber saws, and factory mills?

Well, I got to try that out this week using Google Vids. At first, it looks overwhelming. There are AI-created images, AI-created narrations, animations for images, the timeline of your video, self-made recordings, computer-uploaded content, stock and online photos, and so much more. It has everything you need to create a video from scratch with nothing but your ideas. If you need to make a how-to video with free images and a clean-sounding narration, Google Vids has it. One thing I dread in making a video is hearing myself talk while I edit my video to make the sound and image match correctly. But Google Vids does this for you. It takes your AI-generated images and scripted content and creates a seamless video.

One thing I would think is a challenge for users is that most people from older generations that didn't use phones, videos, or cameras daily would struggle to understand the video-making platform. I remember as a kid, cropping videos, splitting audio, and sliding the data around to make for a smooth transition was something my friends and I did for fun. However, my parents' generation didn't have cell phones with HD cameras in their pockets. Phones were new and installed on a wall in the home. So, I would assume there is a learning curve for older generations. That said, Google Vids still does a basic job of showing first-time users where things are.

Nevertheless, I would still recommend any new user watch a video that shows an example of someone actually using the Google Vid tools in real-time, and with a specific purpose. This one is an example of one that I found most helpful.
